Prima

Unlike its predecessors, Prima was designed to be the Wagner's first industrial powder coating device marketed like a consumer product, without having to be installed and set up by a sales rep or an engineer.

To further reduce manufacturing and handling costs, Prima was to be shipped without an expensive printed documentation, which had to be stocked in large amounts and in different languages.

For this purpose, epicentro suggested a self-explaining training CD containing:

• an animated user interface
• operating manuals
• spare parts lists
• brochures
• how-to videos
• animated tips & tricks

The user interface and animations were designed with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and brought to life with Macromedia Director, the no. 1 tool for interactive CDs.

The documents were provided in PDF format to be viewed with Adobe Reader. epicentro shot the videos at the client’s test lab, edited them with Adobe Premiere Pro and finally converted them to MPEG movies.

The benefits of the final CD are considerable:

• one CD covers all documents and languages and reduces handling costs
• the production costs of a CD are only a fraction of those for a printed documentation
• the CD serves also as a training and demo tool for service and sales staff
• the CD provides a direct link to the client’s website for updates and additional information
